Sa Forana wine project

The Sa Forana wine project was born in 2003 by the brothers Carles and Xavier Solano, who have been present in Menorca since the 70s, with the aim of producing high quality wines, following a strong gastronomic interest, proximity to nature and an artisan look. Over the years, Carles, Joaquim and Albert, from the next generation, have joined, and the team is completed with Mercè in the oenology part and Llorenç, Miquel and Kleber in the vineyards and the wine cellar.

Currently, in the estate on the Camí de Sa Forana de Sant Climent, they have planted 3.3 hectares of vines, with the red grapes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Ull de lebre and Syrah, and white Premsal and white Chardonnay. In addition, they also manage another 4 hectares of vineyards around Sant Climent, with the same grape varieties.

In 2008 they launched the first wine on the market, and Celler Solano de Menorca currently has an annual production of around 20,000 bottles. They make 4 wines, 2 red and 2 white, selecting grapes with the phenolic ripeness point and looking for the expression of minerality that the clayey and calcareous soil close to the sea provides. They have the range of 600 Meters white and black, with the fresh young wines of the year, and the range of Sa Forana, which are aged, more structured wines.
